The Los Angeles Galaxy signed goalkeeper Jonathan Bond from the Premier League side West Bromwich Albion on Thursday.
Bond, 27, is a native of England but also holds a U.S. passport and will not occupy an international roster spot.
"Jonathan is a quality goalkeeper with experience playing at a high level," said LA Galaxy general manager Dennis te Kloese in a news release. "He is a talented player and we believe he can make an impact with our team as we strengthen our goalkeeper position. We look forward to Jonathan joining the squad and his contributions this season."
The 6-foot-5 Bond joined West Brom in 2018 following stints with Watford and Reading and various loan spells throughout Britain. He has made 36 appearances in the English Championship, 40 in League One and 15 in England's FA Cup in his professional career.
"I can't wait to get started and meet all the players, staff and of course the fans," Bond posted on Twitter. "I hope we can make some incredible memories together and show why this is the biggest club in @mls."
