Veteran guard Marco Belinelli has signed a three-year contract to play for Italian team Virtus Bologna for a second stint, the team announced on Thursday.

It is a return home for the 34-year-old Italian who has spent 13 seasons in the NBA.

Belinelli has averaged 9.7 points per game in his career. He's made 1,216 3-point baskets in 860 games with nine NBA teams, recording at least 100 3-pointers in six occasions.

Belinelli spent the last two seasons with the San Antonio Spurs in his second stint with the franchise. He averaged 6.3 points per game last season while averaging 15.5 minutes in 57 games off the bench.

During Belinelli's first tour of duty with the Spurs, he was part of the team's 2014 NBA title team. He averaged 11.4 points per game during the regular season and 5.4 points per game during 23 playoff games, as San Antonio defeated the Miami Heat in five games in the NBA Finals.

Belinelli previously played for Virtus Bologna as a teenager in 2002-03 before later becoming a first-round pick (18th overall) of the Golden State Warriors in 2007.
