Following Colorado's decision to make sports betting legal in May, the Carousel Group announced Tuesday that its online sportsbook, SportsBetting.com, is now live and operational.
SportsBetting.com is the Carousel Group's first foray into the U.S. market with its online sportsbook brand. According to the Carousel Group, it took its first bet from Colorado on Sept. 16, a winning wager on the Los Angeles Dodgers.
"It feels like Christmas in September," Carousel Group CEO Daniel Graetzer said in a statement. "This project is the culmination of years of planning and hard work, and finally we get to see our product live in the booming Colorado market."
SportsBetting.com will be pushing its new service with a series of promotions for new customers, including refunding players all losing wagers up to $500 for their first week. Other promotions planned involve the first touchdown scored of NFL and Denver Broncos games as well as triple-doubles notched from players remaining in the NBA playoffs.
"We will stand by our pledge to offer some of the best odds and highest limits in the market, meaning we'll provide great value for customers, and we won't kick out players just because they are winning," Graetzer said.
"There's an insatiable appetite for sports betting in Colorado, and we couldn't be more pleased that our maiden voyage to the U.S. will be aboard the Centennial ship."
According to Carousel, SportsBetting.com also eventually will have a mobile app for customers in addition to its online platform. The app is still in development, but Carousel said it should be available for download before the end of the month.
