Running back Martez Carter scored two of his three touchdowns on the ground and the Los Angeles Wildcats earned their first XFL victory with a dominating 39-9 performance Sunday over the DC Defenders at Carson, Calif.
The Grambling State product scored on runs of 1 and 20 yards, while Los Angeles quarterback Josh Johnson threw for three TDs, two of which went to Tre McBride, as the Wildcats (1-2) had 334 yards of total offense. Johnson, a San Diego product, had 278 yards passing.
Quarterback Cardale Jones was just 13 of 26 for 103 yards for the Defenders (2-1), while also throwing four interceptions. Nick Brossette rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown for DC, which entered with 58 total points in its first two games.
