Inter Miami CF acquired South American defenders Andres Reyes and Jairo Quinteros on Thursday.

Reyes, 20, arrives on loan from Colombia's Atletico Nacional with a purchase option after the loan period.

Reyes is also a member of Colombia's U-23 national team and competed in the U-20 World Cup last May.

"Andres is a sturdy defensive presence with a lot of potential," Miami sporting director Paul McDonough said in a statement. "We continue adding a few more quality pieces to our roster during the final stretch of preseason, and believe in Andres we have a solid, quick and precise defender in the backline."

Quinteros, also 20, was acquired from La Liga side Valencia. Miami will loan him to Club Bolivar in his native Bolivia for the 2020 season.

"Jairo is a talented defender who has represented his country at several youth stages, and we look forward to continue his development with one of Bolivia's best clubs, Club Bolivar, of which one of our owners, Marcelo Claure, is also the president of," said McDonough. "This is a great example of our global ownership working together to acquire quality players."

Inter Miami open their inaugural MLS season on the road on March 1 against Los Angeles FC.
